New Crane Stabiliser Interlock Legislation EN12999/A3
WALKER CRANE SERVICES and FASSI UK position ref EN12999
Following the ALLMI / HSE guidance on the delayed implementation of EN12999 A3 it is Walker Crane Services and Fassi UK’s intention to specify a stabiliser interlock system on all 2010 plate cranes to ensure conformance with the essential health & safety requirements (EHSR's) of the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EG that came into force on 27/12/2009.
As per the previous ALLMI guidance (dated November 2009) “any machine built prior to 29/12/09 falls under the auspices of the previous version of EN12999/A2 and should not be required to conform to the requirements of A3 even if it is installed after that date”.
Fassi UK hold a number of 2009 plate cranes in stock which conform to EN12999 A2 & are legitimately available for sale & supply in 2010.
